Cheryl Jean Palmer Neves

ODESSA Cheryl Jean Palmer Neves was called from her Odessa home to be in a better place with our Lord on Sunday, July 28, 2007 as a result of a lengthy illness.

Cheryl was born August 11, 1946 in Roby, TX. to JT and Jimma Lee Palmer. She remained in Roby until she married Jerry Boyd Neves on July 27, 1962.

Cheryl was a very devoted friend, mother and grandmother. She was a very giving and loving and caring person. She was always there in a time of need for friends, family or strangers. She loved being around her family and all of those who knew and loved her. Cheryl was especially fond of her grandchildren. She took care of everyone who needed her. Every person that crossed paths with this very special lady was touched in some way.

She is survived by her two loving sons, Jerome Neves, Jay Brett Neves and his wife Elizabeth Neves of Odessa; her grandchildren Jacob, Shelby, Joshua of Abilene and baby Jayten of Odessa; two great-grandchildren Chase and Bryce of Abilene. She is survived by two siblings; her sister Pamela Mahaffey and husband Eric of Odessa, a brother Brent and wife Gail Palmer of Roby. She is survived by nephew Christopher Mahaffey, Patrick Mahaffey and niece Ashley Gahr. She worked diligently while raising her family to graduate magna cum laude with a bachelor’s of arts degree in criminal justice. She longed to work with and understand workings of the criminal mind. She continued to work passionately through her years with law enforcement and crisis intervention thriving with the rape crisis center and other agencies with mental and emotional counseling.

She will always be missed but never forgotten. She will continue to live in our hearts to forever bring us joy with remembrances.

Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, August 2, 2007 at Frank W. Wilson Funeral Home Chapel.

Services are entrusted to Frank W. Wilson Funeral Directors.
